Marcos Drummond Malvar

Marcos Drummond Malvar assists clients in antitrust, anticorruption, compliance and regulatory matters brought before administrative and judicial courts, and provides broad-based consulting in connection with business practices and antitrust and regulatory compliance.

Mr. Malvar structures compliance programs and codes of conduct and conducts internal investigations in companies from a wide range of sectors. He has also experience in negotiating leniency and settlement agreements with public authorities, including the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE), the Federal Controller's Office (Controladoria Geral da União – CGU) and the Public Prosecutor's Office.

He also assists clients before CADE, including parties M&As and associative agreements, as well as third parties that challenge transactions.

In litigation matters, Mr. Malvar represents clients in investigations related to violations of the economic and the regulatory order, as well as in anticompetitive practices investigations before CADE. In judicial matters, Mr. Malvar represents clients in lawsuits that challenge fines and rulings of regulatory authorities.

Mr. Malvar was elected by his peers to the Council of IBRAC, Brazil’s association of antitrust practitioners.
